orlh <br /> ADDITIONAL INFORMATION REQUIREMENTS <br /> CHOCOLATE MANUACTURING FACILITY; <br /> CLEMENTS, SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY <br /> Please provide the following information in a report prepared by a California Registered <br /> Engineer: <br /> I. Describe the facility, the items that will be available for purchase, the anticipated number <br /> of customers, and days of operation. <br /> 2. Describe the products that will be manufactured and the waste materials associated with <br /> each product. Describe how off-specification, spoiled, or contaminated materials will be <br /> disposed. <br /> 3. Describe cleaning procedures, equipment, and chemicals that will be used in sanitation <br /> activities for the food processing. $" - <br /> in cooling <br /> water and <br /> water domestic and industrial including g ) <br /> 4. Describe all sources of waste { g <br /> estimate the flow rates. Provide estimates of wastewater quality based on samples of <br /> similar operations or published data. Provide a chemical characterization of the <br /> wastewater and cooling water quality, including biochemical oxygen demand, total <br /> suspended solids, total dissolved solids, nitrogenous compounds, and volatile organic <br /> chemicals. <br /> 5. Provide loading rate calculations for the process wastewater septic tank and describe how <br /> the treatment is adequate to protect groundwater quality from degradation. Because the <br /> facility is proposing to discharge chocolate manufacturing wastewater to the septic tank, <br /> additional treatment will be required. If appropriate, provide a description of the revised <br /> pretreatment system and septic tank/leach line/seepage pit construction and an explanation <br /> of how the wastewater disposal is protective of groundwater quality. <br /> b. Describe procedures that will be implemented to prevent the discharge of fats/oils/grease <br /> to the leachfield. Describe how odors arising from an overloaded septic tank or leachfield <br /> will be prevented. <br /> ?. Describe how cooling water will be disposed of. 'If surface impoundments will be used to <br /> store wastewater, provide diagrams and a description of the planned impoundment, <br /> location, size and depth, construction materials, inlet and outlets, depth to groundwater <br /> below the bottom of the pond, and existing or planned groundwater monitoring wells. <br /> 1 <br /> 8. Allowing for two feet of freeboard, what is the approximate storage capacity of the <br /> wastewater pond(s)? Provide a water balance that evaluates the containment structures <br /> ability to provide sufficient capacity on a month-by-month basis. Include monthly <br /> evaporation, precipitation, and irrigation rates as well as monthly discharge volumes. <br /> Rainfall shall be based on the 100-year return period total annual precipitation. <br /> 9.
