SEPTIC SYSTEM DESIGN PARAMETERS AND COMPONENTS
The septic system design components are illustrated to scale on the attached schematic in
Appendix G. System appurtenances include a grease trap, two septic tanks, Infiltrator®
chambers, settling tank, distribution box, leachlines and seepage pits. Design parameters are
based upon the San Joaquin County Sewage Standards incorporating two separate sizing criteria:
1.) The daily maximum number of employees on a per day basis, calculated from 15 gallons/
person/day, and 2.) As referenced in Section 6.1.15 of the Sewage Standards, 150 gallons/toilet
fixture/day are values assigned for restroom use by customers for a "store." The daily maximum
number of employees must be used for design purposes, in conjunction with the number of toilet
fixtures within the facility. These values are illustrated in the Chart found on Page 8. 5
SIZING CALCULATIONS
The following sizing criteria calculations provide the data for the proposed septic system:
One Men's Public Restroom with one toilet/sink = 150 gallons/day
One Women's Public Restroom with one toilet/sink = 150 gallons/day
Total = 300 gallons/day
Employee Wastewater FIow based on the daily maximum number of employees for the month of
October (See Chart on Page 8) =25 Emp, x 15 gallons/emp/day = 375 gallons/day
Clean-up at the end of each workday =325 gallons/day
Total = 300 + 375 + 325 = 1,000 gallons/day_x 1.5 Peaking actor
1.500 gallons of wastewater/dgy from the facilit
10
CFiesireyconsultir y
- 1
