ALEXANDER T. HENSON
ATTORNEY AND COUNSELOR AT LAW
February 11, 1993 FEB 161993
WMMUN1'f Y ULYLLM-mui i Lityi,
San Joaquin County Planning Division PLANNING DIVISION
Attn: Loree Goold
1810 E. Hazelton. Ave.
Stockton, CA 95205 0
Re: ARPlication Numbers SA-93--0003 and 0004
Dear Ms. Goold:
I am writing on behalf of Gene and Betty DeMartini who live at
4496 Jack Tone Road, Stockton, California who wish to receive a
copy of the Planning Division action. .
It is requested that an environmental impact report be prepared
for this project. The project is more of an industrial use than
an agricultural use,. Once built the project will not grow any-
thing. It will be packaging and storing of a commodity that
happens to be agricultural .
My client's house at 4496 Jack Tone Road will be- approximately
300 feet from where all traffic at the project site will exit
onto Jack Tone Road. without an explanation of the. present
traffic it is not possible to compare how much worse the traffic
and noise will be, however, it will be significantly worse than
the status quo. My clients perceive that when the proposed
project is in full swing that the traffic past their front door
will be so intense as to disable them from leaving their proper-
ty. It is understood that a traffic study will be done prior to
further review of this project. A copy of same is hereby re-
quested.
Regarding noise, my clients are often disturbed by the existing
operation. The anticipated noise level from such an industrial
use must exceed standards for residential uses which exist near-
by. Noise measurements projected from this project, especially
during nighttime operations compel the preparation of an EIR.
The cowing and going of the second shift in the middle of the
night even if only for a couple of weeks will be noisy indeed.
Regarding water use, why isn't the current use given rather than
some U.C. hypothesis. Current pumping and irrigation rates must
be available. My clients had to deepen their well last year by
25 E. CARMEL VALLEY RD., P.O.
