r
KLEINFELDER
An employee awned company
File No. 29556.G01
December 8, 2003
Mr. Mike Jennings
Lodi Grading and Paving
P.O. Box 1301
Lodi, CA 95241-1301
Subject: ADDENDUM TO SOIL SUITABILITY STUDY
9167 EAST FIRST STREET
VICTOR, CALIFORNIA
Dear Mr. Jennings:
Kleinfelder is pleased to present this addendum to our soil suitability study dated June 18, 2003
for the proposed septic systems at the commercial site located at 9167 E. First Street in Victor,
California. This addendum has been prepared to address the comments by San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Department (SJCEHD) in their letter September 16, 2003.
• Items 1.4, 5.1, and 6.1 — The site plan is attached. Also attached is a parcel map
from the SJCEHD Parcel Viewer program.
• Item 2.1 — We understand that the site had previously been used as a recycling
center. At the time of our investigation, the site had been vacated by the previous
owners/business, No other information on prior uses of the site is readily available.
• Item 3.1 — The on-site septic systems are currently not being used as the site was
vacant at the time of our investigation. In addition, we understand that new septic
systems are proposed to serve the existing buildings, which will be renovated, and
the existing septic systems are to be abandoned. Details of the existing septic
systems are unknown by Lodi Grading and Paving and no permits were on file with
SJCEHD. Based on the lack of repair permits for this site and only one repair
permit on file for any of the adjacent parcels, we assume that, in general, the
existing septic systems in the project area are performing well.
• Item 3.7 — We understand that the site will be used as a commercial facility for
Lodi Grading and Paving. According to Mr. Greg Wright of WJ Development, a
maximum of approximately 8 full-time employees are planned for the facility. It is
unknown at this time which septic systems will serve which number of employees.
Maximum septic wastewater flows of approximately 120 gallons/day are
anticipated for the entire site (8 employees at 15 gallons/day/employee for sites
without cafeteria facilities). Based on this, the septic tanks can be 1,200-gallon
29556.G01/ST03R1819 December 8,2003%
©2003 Kleinfelder,Inc.
