5.4 Discussion of soil lithology as related to future onsite septic uses: The Bisgani Loamy Coarse
sand, Honcut Sandy Loam, Tinnin Loamy Course sand, and Veritas Fine Sandy Loam have moderately
rapid to rapid permeability. Thus, percolation rates were 17 min/in. (See Appendix).
6.0 PERCOLATION TEST INFORMATION SECTION
6.1 Site Map Showing the location, h concise and accurate dimensions of the percolation
test holes on the parcel: (Seetppend .)
6.2 The Min um Number of Shallow and Deep Percolation Tests was Performed for Each
_ Parcel: Twos allow percolation test holes were prepared, one on each proposed parcel. /
6.3 Decripti of the Date, Time and Protocol Used to Prepare the Test Hole,Including
_ Depth an imensions of Hole, Preparation of Hole, and Depth of Water Used to Presoak
(Minimum 12 Inches): The shallow test holes were excavated to a depth of 42 inches and
8 inches in diameter and backfilled with 2 inches of"pea gravel" in accordance with County
Standards. The shallow holes were prepared by Mike Toy at 7:30 a.m. On September 7, 2011 at
7:30 a.m. the 24 hour presoak period was started. The holes were filled with 12 inches
of water over the gravel at this time.
6.4 Description of the Date, Time and Condition of the Test Hole After the 24-Hour Soak
Period (Hole Still Intact, Hole Dry, Depth to Water Remaining in Hole, Etc.): On
September 8, 2011 at 7:30 a.m. the two shallow test holes were dry. Six inches of water was /
added to the holes and the holes were deemed suitable to continue. The shallow tests passed the
minimum County requirements.
6.5 The Test Conformed to San Joaquin County Policy EHD 02-02 (Correct Depth, diameter,
2" gravel, 6" Water Refill, Correct Readings Recorded): The percolation tests conformed to
San Joaquin County Policy EHD 02-02.
6.6 Complete Percolation Test Form (Including Readings) Was Provided With REHS ,
Verification Signature. The Rate Was Correctly Calculated Using the Last Reading:
(See Appendix for Test Result Form.)
Shallow
TEST HOLE PERCOLATION RATE
1 (Parcel 1) Vn./In.
2 Designated Remainder 17 A 'n./In.
*See Results in Appendix.
6.7 Discussion of Any Potential Problems Predicted and/Or the Need for An Engineered or
Alternative Septic System: In this area, the soils are classified as Bisgani Loamy Coarse Sand,
Honcut Sandy Loam, Tinnin Loamy Course Sand, and Veritas Fine Sandy Loam. Due to this
_ classification and percolation rates, a standard septic system similar to the ones found on the other
homesites would be recommended on Parcel 1 and the "Designated Remainder".
3
Y:\DMDOC\2011\1135\SS STUDY 092711 APN 288 13022.doc
