%W1 I%ww
MONITORING AND REPORTING PROGRAM ORDER NO. -2-
RICHARD A. STAGNO, AND
STAGNO'S MEAT COMPANY
SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY
Compounds Units Sampling Frequencv
Salinity mg/kg Annual'
Nitrogen mg/kg Annual'
Phosphorus mg/kg Annual'
Potassium mg/kg Annual'
I Annual samples shall be collected prior to the onset of the rainy season.
Upon written request from the Discharger, manure solids may be disced into the cropland soil prior to
planting, provided the analytical results from the previous year of operation indicate the soil is deficient
in nitrogen, phosphorus, or potassium.
GROUNDWATER MONITORING
Groundwater samples shall be collected for analysis after the monitoring well(s)has been adequately
purged. Purging is defined as either three well volumes or until stabilization of temperature,pH, and
electrical conductivity.
After installation and development, all monitoring wells shall be measured for depth to water and shall
be sampled and analyzed for baseline concentrations of general minerals (consisting of calcium,
magnesium, potassium, sodium, chloride, sulfate, nitrate, TDS, alkalinity series,pH, and hardness),
boron, phosphate, Total Kjeldahl Nitrogen, and ammonia. In addition, the sample from the upgradient
well shall be analyzed for a Nitrogen stable isotope ratio analysis. Upon collection and analysis of
baseline groundwater samples from each monitoring well, the following monitoring program shall be
implemented:
Compounds Units Sampling Frequency'
Depth to Groundwater? 0.01 feet Semi-Annual'
Nitrate mg/1 Semi-Annual'
TDS mg/l Semi-Annual'
I The groundwater frequency may be reduced to annual, collected during the height of the dry season(summer),provided that
after five years of monitoring, compound concentrations have not varied significantly from background.
2 A standard reference elevation(measured in feet mean sea level)for each monitoring well point-of-measurement shall be
provided. Groundwater levels must be measured prior to sampling.
3 Semi-annual samples shall be collected during the height of the wet and dry seasons(i.e.winter and summer, respectively).
In addition, the on-site supply well shall be sampled and analyzed during the first, third and fifth year
of monitoring. The groundwater sample shall be analyzed for the same compounds as required for the
monitoring wells. Measurements for groundwater levels may be deleted if well head access is
unavailable. Upon written request from the Discharger, analyses for Nitrate and TDS may be deleted
