iIay ua 85 12: 28p Clements School
(209) 759-9105 p, 2
\.r .. .. ....
May 3, 2005
San Joaquin County
Community Development Department
1810 East Hazelton Ave ECEVED
Stockton, Ca 95205 MAY 0 3 2005
Attn: Kathy Allen CommunityDevelopmentD
ePt
This is a lettor of opposition inXgards to application # PA 0500219 (SA)
Property Owner: Suzanne Schenk, 24400 Fuhrman Road, Acampo, Ca 95220
APN/Address: 021-048-12.
As a small producer of 4H and FFA project Iambs, otherwise known as
Club Lambs, I am bitterly opposed to this project. Because of the genetic
makeup and investment and the culling process of these breeding animals their
offspring are often worth two hundred to one thousand dollars apiece. Due to the
breed, Suffolk-Hampshire crosses; they breed only once a year, making losses
intolerable. In the past my only losses have come from domestic dogs, not
coyotes, but rather someone's "pet".
It's unclear whether this facility is to house the many dogs already present
on this property or to houses more dogs. it's also unclear if this is to be a
controlled breeding facility or a sort of halfway house for stray dogs. If the latter
is the Baso housing dogs without any history of behavior problems, vaccination or
medical records compounds the problem. It's also to my understanding the
kennel will now be located in the barn, this area a preferred habitat for bats,
making rabies control amust. Also considering the safely of the very young
children residing on this property is the number one priority.
Finally if the county chooses to approve this recipe for disasters will it also
assume a portion of the liability that goes with it?
Sincerely,, nnA
William and Elaine McCarty v
24583 N. Fuhrman Road
Acampo. Ca 95220
209.334.6373
