Because Bear Creek Winery was
operating with a permit that was issued prior to monitoring requirements, staff has prepared the attached
Monitoring and Reporting Program (MRP). A draft MRP was transmitted to you on 1 September 2000;
Bear Creek Winery provided comments on the draft MRP on 13 September 2000. This finalized MRP
incorporated the change requested by Bear Creek Winery. Bear Creek Winery is directed to initiate
monitoring as described in the attached MRP in October 2000. The data collected will be used in
preparation of revised WDRs.
By 30 November 2000 please provide a groundwater monitoring workplan, including a project schedule.
The workplan shall be consistent with the attached guidance document. It is anticipated that Bear Creek
Winery will begin groundwater monitoring by the Second Quarter 2001. All other aspects of the
monitoring program are required at this time.
Please telephone Tim O'Brien at (916) 255-3116 if you have any questions regarding the MRP,
groundwater well installation requirements, or the WDR update process.
ovii,
4&-1.
WENDY WYELS, Chief
Waste Discharge to Land Unit
Lower San Joaquin River Watershed
Enclosure: Monitoring and Reporting Program
Monitoring Well Installation Guidelines
cc: Mike Huggins, San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department, Stockton
California Environmental Protection Agency
¢d Recycled Paper
