SOIL SUITABILITY STUDY <br /> Introduction <br /> Live Oak GeoEnvironmental, Inc (Live Oak) was contracted by Tony Chiappe of <br /> Chiappe Farms, Inc. to conduct a Soil Suitability Study for his property located at 24226 <br /> East Highway 4, Farmington, California (Plate 1). <br /> The Soil Suitability Study was conducted to determine whether the soils are suitable for <br /> use with a septic system. The study was performed according to the requirements of <br /> Section 9-1105.2(d) of the San Joaquin County Development code. <br /> The formatting of the report has been designed to follow the recommendations of the <br /> San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department as described in its Soil <br /> Suitability Study Requirements Checklist. <br /> Proposed Development <br /> A minor subdivision is proposed to divide the Site into a 55.59-acre Parcel 1 and a ii 2 <br /> 107 02-acre Parcel 2 (Plate 2). No changes in use of the Site are proposed. <br /> Site Description <br /> ` The Site is a single parcel, Assessor's Parcel Number (APN) 187-110-20, approximately <br /> 163 acres in size. The Site consists of agricultural land with a residence near its center. <br /> Two irrigation wells and one domestic well supply water for the Site. A recent aerial <br /> photograph of the Site is included as Plate 3. <br /> The elevation of the Site, according to a United States Geological Survey topographic <br /> map, is approximately 100 to 105 feet above mean sea level (Plate 4). The Site <br /> topography is relatively flat, except where it slopes down to Littlejohns Creek on its <br /> southern side. <br /> The San Joaquin County Community Development Department web site states that the <br /> Site is zoned AG-40, general agriculture with a minimum parcel size of 40 acres. This <br /> zoning designation "is established to preserve agricultural lands for the continuation of <br /> commercial agricultural enterprises." <br /> Past Uses of the Site <br /> Based on information reviewed for the Surface & Subsurface Contamination Report <br /> (Live Oak, 2013), the Site has been agricultural land since 1937 or earlier. The <br /> residential structures on the Site also date to 1937 or earlier. <br /> LOGE 1307 Page 1 <br />
