2.2 Proposed Development
A minor subdivision is proposed to divide the Site into two new parcels. No changes in
use of the Site are proposed.
2.3 Topography
A recent U.S. Geological Survey 7.5-minute topographic map was obtained from the
San Joaquin County District Viewer. In the map, the Site is depicted as open
agricultural land with one structure near its center. The property is approximately 100 to
105 feet above mean sea level and is relatively flat, except where it slopes down to
Littlejohns Creek on its southern side. Surrounding properties are shown to be open
agricultural land with scattered rural residences. Farmington is located approximately
one-half mile to the east. This map is included as Plate 3 in Appendix 1.
3.0 HISTORICAL RESEARCH
3.1 Aerial Photographs
Live Oak reviewed aerial photographs of the Site provided by the San Joaquin County
Surveyor's Office in Stockton, California. The available photographs were dated 1937,
1952, 1963, and 1975. Two additional photographs, dated October 1998, and
_ September 2008, were obtained from the San Joaquin County District Viewer.
In the 1937 photo, the Site appears to be open, dry farmed, agricultural land. One or
more structures and several trees are present near the center of the Site. A small,
uncultivated area can be seen along Littlejohns Creek to the southwest of the Site. The
surrounding parcels appear to be agricultural land and orchards. Several rural
residences can be seen to the north of Highway 4 (Farmington Road).
In the 1952 photo, portions of the Site appears to be leveled, irrigated, agricultural land.
Three structures can be clearly seen near the center of the Site because the
surrounding trees have been trimmed. (2-
In
2In the 1963 photo, the entire Site appears to be leveled, agricultural land. No other
significant changes are apparent.
In the 1975 photo, the entire Site appears to be irrigated. No other significant changes
are apparent.
In the 1998 and 2008 photos, new orchards have been planted on some of the
surrounding parcels. No other significant changes are apparent.
LOGE 1306 Page 2
