Flag City Design Guidelines <br /> Chapter 2-Flag City Design Guidelines <br /> SECTION 2.5 <br /> PARKING LOT DESIGN <br /> In addition to ordinance requirements contained in the Development Title, the following <br /> surface parking requirements shall apply to new development projects. <br /> • Parking lots should be organized with landscaping and have clear and <br /> attractive pedestrian pathways leading to buildings. <br /> • A continuous screen at least thirty (30) inches high shall be formed by a solid <br /> wall or planting. If shrubs are used to create the screen, the shrubs should be a <br /> minimum of thirty(30) inches in height after two years growth. <br /> • Solid walls used for screening should be integrated with planter boxes or <br /> accompanied by a minimum ten (10) foot wide landscaped edge facing the <br /> street. <br /> • Parking spaces and lots shall be set back at least five (5) feet from the face of <br /> a building. The five (5) foot area between the parking space and building <br /> shall either be used as a pedestrian walkway or be fully landscaped. <br />
