Hydrophilic plants will be grouped together, as will drought <br /> resistant plants , etc. This should allow for a further reduction in irrigation volume in <br /> several areas of the nursery. These plant grouping procedures are reportedly <br /> ongoing . <br /> This BMP was implemented during the winter of 19974998. For example, <br /> when the nursery receives its bare root plants, they are placed in the nursery <br /> according to the plants ' water requirements. Older trees that are root bound <br /> and require more water were moved and consolidated together. This project <br /> also required a tremendous amount of labor to move the existing stock <br /> around before the new bare-root stock was received. After containerizing the <br /> new plants, they were subsequently grouped so that the irrigation times <br /> could be reduced so that the plants ' watering needs would be met but not <br /> exceeded. During the month of March 1998, the irrigation systems were <br /> checked and the timers were reset to accommodate the above-described <br /> procedures. Continuous grouping of plants based on water usage should be <br /> continued. <br /> 13 . Norman 's Nursery intends to provide the RWQCB an annual report of onsite <br /> monitoring . This would include runoff basin , source water and irrigation data . In <br /> addition , if monitoring wells are ultimately installed , the information collected from <br /> these wells would also be included . <br /> This reporting is not going to be implemented given that it would be <br /> repetitious of the reporting requirements required by the RWQCB 's <br /> Monitoring and Reporting Program #97-811 . <br /> 6 .3 PREVIOUSLY UN -PROPOSED BMPs IMPLEMENTED <br /> In addition to further efforts as described above , the following additional BMPs , which were <br /> not previously proposed , have also been implemented : <br /> A) The existing domestic/back-up irrigation well required frequent backflushing to <br /> maintain its suitability for domestic use .
