Several borings were drilled and did not encounter suitable <br /> material on the first try. On parcels 1, 3, and 4, additional borings were drilled between 50 to <br /> 100-feet from the original borings and eventually encountered permeable soil suitable for a <br /> percolation test. Figure 1 identifies the locations where permeable soils were found and a <br /> successful percolation test was conducted. The following table presents the boring log drilled on <br /> the parcel and the depth which an adjacent percolation test hole was drilled. <br /> One percolation test was conducted on each of the four(4) proposed parcels. The borings <br /> ` were drilled utilizing a truck mounted 4-inch continuous flight auger. The casing used for the <br /> test was 2-inch diameter, PVC pipe with an open end on the top and bottom. Perforations were <br /> made on approximately the last 12 inches of the casing. Two (2) inches of"pea gravel"was <br /> L. placed in the bottom of the hole, the casing was installed, and one(1) foot of"pea gravel"was <br /> backfilled in the annular space. The percolation test borings was pre-soaked 24-hours prior to <br /> the test. <br /> A four(4)hour percolation test was conducted for each parcel on January 19, 2001 in <br /> accordance with the requirements of San Joaquin County Environmental Health Division. The <br /> testing of each of the parcels was observed by Mr. Ted Norgard, Senior Registered <br /> Environmental Health Specialist, San Joaquin County Environmental Health Division. The <br /> location of the tests are shown on the Location Map (Plate 1).
