Y
o
t
i
Ii
l
E
Soil Suitability Study APN: 209-150-16 UP-96-6
'E so near the ground surface is because the test hole was excavated
in the winter season and immediately after some recent rains which
is when the water table would be at its highest level during the
€ year .
E
[ Percolation Tests : A shallow percolation test was conducted and
F performed in accordance with the percolation test procedures
outlined in the "Manual Of Septic Tank. Practice" , published by the
Department Of health, Education And Welfare and the requirements of
the San Joaquin County Public Health Service, Environmental Health
Division.
A shallow Percolation Test Hole, No. PH was excavated to a
depth of 35" . Then 2" of rock was placed in the bottom of the test
hole and presoaked over--night . Since no water remained in the
percolation test hole after the over-night soaking process , the
drop in water level was then measured at 30 minute intervals for 4
hours, and the reading in the last 30 minutes resulted in a
percolation rate of 120 minutes per inch for the subject
property. Under drier test conditions the percolation rate could
well have conformed to the County' s minimum standard of 60 minutes
per inch since the standard was maintained for 3 1/2 hours and only
-illedtconfaori"tlie last1%2jhour . The test was performed
under v' '-satif ated con`d ti'ons c ated by recent rainstorms and
rainfall occurring on the very day of the percolation rate
determination. The result of the percolation test is summarized and
tabulated as follows :
TEST RESULTS :
Test Hole Percolation Rate Minimum Usable Mound or
NO . CMinutes Per Inch) Disposal Area EngineerDesigned
_-- System
PH (35" ) 120 (Failed) Yes
Well Water Analysis : The property owner is making arrangements with
others to test the well water on the subject property; so no well
water analysis is contained in this study report and the results of
the well water testing will be reported in other documentation
separate from this study report .
RECOMMENDATIONS : Due to the nearness of the ground water to the
natural ground surface (7 ' 06" maximum and 6 ' 04 inches minimum) , as
well as the percolation test not conforming to the San Joaquin
County Standard _mi.ni.mum pe-r-col-at.:i-on rate -of 60 minutes per inch
the use of a leh field or seepage pits is not acceptable.: Instead
any future development of this property involving"' theineed of a
septic system, a mound septic system design or a specially engineer
Gurudawara Gur Nanak Parkash, 16101 West Gantline Road, Tracy, Ca. 4
i
