motor vehicle trips. Trip generation estimates are provided in Tables 5-6 and 5-7 for this alternative and the proposed project,respectively. As indicated in the tables,the Traffic/Air Emissions Reduction Alternative would generate a total of 4,897 a.m. peak-hour trips and 5,698 p.m.peak-hour trips,whereas the proposed project would generate a total of 4,997 a.m. peak-hour trips and 5,913 p.m.peak-hour trips.Based on this information,this alternative would generate 2.0% fewer total a.m.peak hour trips and 3.6%fewer total p.m.peak-hour trips than the proposed project. With incorporation of the approximately 5%trip reduction that would occur associated with implementation of the transit program under the Traffic/Air Emissions Reduction Alternative, this alternative would generate approximately 7.0%fewer total a.m.peak-hour trips and approximately 8.6%fewer p.m.peak-hour trips than the proposed project.
