kn KtEINFELDER <br /> 7 INTERVIEWS <br /> Kleinfelder attempted to contact key site managers to obtain current and historical environmental <br /> information concerning the subject site. Key site managers may include current or past owners <br /> of the site, managers, or current occupants on site. Local government officials were interviewed <br /> to obtain further information about environmental enforcement actions pending or ongoing at the <br /> site and adjacent facilities, or relevant permits (e.g. building, air quality, well abandonment, etc.) <br /> for the site and adjacent facilities. <br /> I �f <br /> Copies of telephone conversation records included in Appendix D and summaries of the <br /> discussions are- included in Chapter 4.0 of this report. The following sections highlight <br /> FIL environmental conditions revealed during the interviews. <br /> 7.1. INTERVIEW WITH OWNER/MANAGER <br /> i <br /> r Mr. Dave Hernandez (site owner), (209) 832-0749 <br /> An interview was conducted with Mr. Dave Hernandez on April 15, 2005 concerning the subject <br /> site. Mr. Hernandez has owned the site for approximately 25 years. According to Mr. <br /> Hernandez, the site had been used for dry farming and his garage associated with the residence <br /> was used for welding and repairs. He informed us that his residence (offsite) has one domestic <br /> well and a septic system, which was located directly south of the residence. The only pesticides <br /> he said he had used on the site was Roundup, and it was only used in the vicinity of his yard. <br /> He said the site had never been used for industrial purposes. He also stated that there had never <br /> 5 been any drums or sacks filled with chemicals on the site and that the two drums on the offsite <br /> residence were used for barbequing and for water. According to Mr. Hernandez, the site has <br /> never had any tanks except for the one located on the eastern border of the site. He stated that <br /> this above ground storage tank had never been filled with any type of product. Numerous debris <br /> piles and two ash piles were noted offsite surrounding his residence during the site <br /> reconnaissance. Mr. Hernandez stated that San Joaquin County had required him to remove <br /> debris from his property in the past because of complaints from the neighbors and that the only <br /> debris he had burned was paper. He said that no trash was buried onsite. According to Mr. <br /> Hernandez, the soil pile southeast of the garage is native soil that he used to make the yard more <br /> t. <br /> level. <br /> w <br /> { 7.2.
