I`
KLEINFELDER
2) Due to the past and current agricultural use of the site, Kleinfelder conducted soil
sampling for organochlorine pesticides on May 17, 2005. Five soil samples were
4 collected and submitted to Precision Enviro-Tech Analytical Laboratory for analysis.
Based on the soil sampling results, it does not appear that detectable amounts of
organochlorine pesticides are present in shallow soil at the locations sampled. Therefore,
Kleinfelder does not recommend additional sampling for organochlorine pesticides.
3) An AST is located near the eastern border of the site. No leaking, staining, or stressed
vegetation was observed around the tank. According to Mr. Hernandez, the tank has
t always been empty. Kleinfelder recommends removing the AST from the site. If
leaking or soil stains are observed during the removal of the AST, the signatories of this
report should be contacted and the extent of impact evaluated.
4) According to Ms. Lisa Dowdy, there is one pipeline under CSFMPSO jurisdiction located
r around the site. The pipeline is listed as an 18 and 20-inch crude oil line operated
ono p p
by Chevron. Signs marking the location of this pipeline were observed during the site
reconnaissance trending southeast to northwest near the intersection of Grant Line Road
and the undeveloped road on the western border of the site. In the aerial photographs
` reviewed (1957, 1963, 1982, 1993 and 1998), a linear feature that appears to be the
I Chevron Pipeline trends southeast northwest approximately 400 feet northeast of the site.
+} Due to the proximity to the site, the Chevron pipeline may have an adverse impact on the
` site. If contamination attributable to Chevron is discovered onsite, the expense and/or
liability associated with any necessary investigation or remediation would typically fall
M upon the responsible party( i.e. Chevron).
5) Debris was noted scattered throughout the approximate 1-acre yard surrounding the
offsite residence at 20058 W. Grant Line Road. The debris piles include wires, pipes,
paint containers, appliances, corrugated metal, and mechanical and motor parts, wood
boards, PVC pipes, automotive batteries, a refrigerator, 5-gallon and 3'/Z-gallon unlabeled
1 j metal containers, three 1-gallon motor oil containers, a 5-gallon mobile tank, two 55-
gallon drums, and 1-gallon oil containers. Two burn piles and a burn canister are located
east of the shed associated with 20058 W. Grant Line Road. No leaking, staining, or
t
stressed vegetation was observed around the debris.
9.3 DEVIATIONS
No significant deviations were made from the ASTM E 1527-00 practice. No other"non-scope"
considerations, such as asbestos-containing materials, radon, lead-based paint, lead in drinking
water, wetlands, regulatory compliance, cultural and historic resources, industrial hygiene, health
and safety, ecological resources, endangered species, indoor air quality and high voltage
powerlines were considered for this report.
y
55568.POI/STOSR488R/f.TVav
I
©2005 Kleinfelder,Inc.
