INTRODUCTION
This report presents the results of a geotechnical investigation performed for the proposed
Valley Material Transportation facility to be located at 10182 South Harlan Road in French
Camp, California. A plot plan and vicinity map showing the approximate location of the
proposed facility are presented on Plate A-1.
H. PROPOSED CONSTRUCTION
The proposed facility will be constructed in the northeastern corner of the site. The entire site
encompasses approximately 26.7 acres; however, only 12.7 acres will be developed as part of
this facility. Another project will be constructed between Harlan Road and this facility. An
access road extending east from Harlan Road to the subject property will also be constructed
as part of the development for this project. In addition, a storm water retention basin will be
constructed in the southeast portion of the site.
n
jWe understand that the proposed Valley Material Transportation facility will consist of an
approximate 15,000 square-foot steel office building with a concrete slab-on-grade floor.
Foundation loads are expected to be relatively light. Asphalt concrete parking pavement will
_ surround the office and provide for employee parking. Shop access is expected by a concrete
pavement apron. The majority of the site will be covered with gravel for truck parking. A
septic system is proposed at the northwest corner of the project site. Additional details of the
planned construction are not known to our firm at this time.
( III. PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF INVESTIGATION
The purpose of our geotechnical investigation has been to explore and evaluate the surface and
subsurface soil conditions at the site and to provide recommendations for use in design. The
scope of our services was outlined in our discussions on October 13, 1994. Our services were
1 initiated with your verbal authorization.
l This report contains the following information:
• Plot plan and vicinity map showing the approximate locations of the test borings
drilled for this investigation
• Logs of borings
Copyright 1995 Kfainfcldcr, Inc.
