Table 1 presents
some selected properties of these soils:
Table 1.
San Joaquin County Soil Survey
Selected Soil Properties of On-Site Soils.
Soil Name Depth Unified Soil Classification Salinity Soil Perme- Septic tank
and Map (in) (mmhos/cm) Reaction ability absorption
Symbol pH (in/hr) fields
San Joaquin 0-16 Loam; CL-ML, ML <2 5.6-6.5 0.6-2.0 Severe:
loam, 0-2% 16-26 Clay loam, clay; CL <2 6.1-7.8 <0.06 cemented
slopes, 238. 26-60 Indurated --- --- --- pan, peres
slowly
San Joaquin 0-12: Loam; CL-ML, ML <2 5.6 - 6.5 0.6 - 2.0 Severe:
loam, thick 12-26: Sandy clay loam; SC <2 6.1 - 7.3 0.2 - 0.6 cemented
surface, 0- 26-35: Clay loam, clay; CL <2 6.1 - 7.8 <0.06 pan, peres
2%slopes, 35-60: Indurated --- --- --- slowly
240.
5.1 Soil Boring Locations
A total of four (4) soil borings were advanced on the Site, one (1) boring to a depth of 3.15
- feet, one (1) boring to 3.20 feet, one (1) boring to 6.90 feet and one (1) boring to a depth of
23.80 feet. The soil borings were used later for percolation test holes; the locations of the
borings are indicated in Plate 1.
5.2 Soil Boring Dimensions
The soil borings were 3.15, feet, 3.20 feet, 6.90 feet and 23.80 feet in depth, as noted above,
and were 4 inches in diameter.
5.3 Soil Lithology Observed
Generally, the soil encountered in the boring was not similar to the soils reported by the San
Joaquin County Soil Survey for the area (USDA, 1992). The table below presents the soil log for
the soil borings. Conditions were comparable in the shallower holes.
Table 2.
Soil Borin Lo .
Depth Interval (ft) Soil Type Unified Soil Classification
0-2.0 Medium brown, sandy silt SM
2.0-23.80 Brown clay with some silt CL
902 Industrial Way-Lodi,CA 95240-209.367.3701 -Fax 209.369.4228 02007 Neil O.Anderson&Associates,Inc
