Past Uses of the Site <br /> Based on historical aerial photographs reviewed, the Site was dry farmed or used for <br /> grazing land in 1937. Portions of the Site were used for irrigated pasture or crops from <br /> 1952 onwards. The cattle facility and residences were constructed within the last nine <br /> years, according to Mr. Alger. <br /> Existing and„Proposed Septic Tank Usage <br /> Existing Septic System <br /> Three septic systems exist on the Site- One system is located at each of the <br /> residences, and the third serves the milk pra ssing barn. <br /> Propos eptic System <br /> There ar no plans fo construction on the Site. Should any new homes be constructed, <br /> they wool require to utilize new septic systems. <br /> On-Site Septic Permit History <br /> Three septic system permits for the Site were identified at the San Joaquin County <br /> Environmental Health Department: <br /> • October 2002 permit for a new septic system at the milk processing barn. <br /> • April 2004 permit for a new septic system at the eastern residence. <br /> • April 2004 permit for a new septic system at the western residence. <br /> These permits are included in Appendix 4. <br /> Existing Septic Tank Usage in the Vicinity <br /> To determine the existing septic system usage in the area, our office counted septic <br /> systems that exist within approximately four square miles surrounding the property. <br /> Aerial photo imagery from GoogleEarthTm was used. Each building cluster on the photo �— <br /> was assumed to have one septic system. Using this method, we determined that seven <br /> or more septic systems per square mile are present in the immediate vicinity of the Site. <br /> 1 The general area consists of agricultural land, primarily orchards.
