Hendrick,Trust etal
Applicant- George Reed, Inc.
On July 19,2004,I spoke with you regarding application number PA-00400250(QX). In our discussion,it was
decided that we should meet and go over several questions that I and my husband had concerning this matter. I
waited to hear fromyou and when I did not,I decided to write my concerns pertaining-to this project..
1. Agriculture Zoning why should the county let someone have an application for removal of rock, sand
and gravel when it is not a pertinent factor relating to the existing ruling of agriculture farming of this property. it
seems that this is a ploy to make money only, especially when the request for removal of the rock, sand and gravel
is not necessary for leveling the land in order to make it more easily accessible for agriculture. This piece of
Property already has established producing peach and almond trees on it The proposal is to dig up these trees,
dredge up and remove rock, sand and gravel and then replace the trees. To what purpose? Simply to make
money, not to improve the land What about the Wiiliam"A Act? Isn't this property under that Act? Doesn't the
Property owner have_to buy out of it if plans are made to change it from agriculture to profits from sand and gravel
removal?
2 Dust factor: this is e^, ;ng to be hard to control. As it is farming causes enough dust without rhe a,rded
problem of someone digging up the land for profit only and not for farming as it is zoned
3. Noise factor: how can all the removal equipment maintain a low level of noise?
4_ Road-Traffic; theeaisalreadyenough traffic oal4emy Road without having to put up with trneks and
trailers pulling onto the road This will be a danger factor in the foggy and rainy season It will also be a big area
of concern during the school time Porlxuses picking up children. What about the wear and tear on the road? Heavy
equipment will cause the county to continually make repairs. Who will be responbile-for his,the taxpayer?
We are not talking about a mere one or two year process. This is to be a 12 year project of continuous noise, dust,
and heavy traffic,
If this application is approved for one person, what about other property owners? Will this be the start of a new
and overwhelming problem?_
Please keep us informed of any meetings-pertaining to this application.
Sincerely,
/04
Dixie Mortimer
William Mortimer
30538 E.
