Surface and Subsurface Con l6ation Report—APN: 157-243-18—To create hive(5)lot size parcels of
about equal size, each containing at least 7,680 sq. ft., out of a larger 38,531 sq. ft. parcel.
Permeability is slow in the Jacktone soil. Available water capacity is moderate.
The shrink-swell potential is high. The effective rooting depth is limited by the hardpan
at a depth of 20 to 40 inches. Depth to the water table is more than 5 feet, but water may
be briefly perched above the hardpan after periods of heavy rainfall or irrigation. Runoff
is slow and the hazard of water erosion is slight. The rate of water intake in irrigated ares
is 0.1 inch per hour. The soil is subject to rare flooding, which occurs during years of
abnormally high precipitation.
The Jacktone soil is suited to irrigated row, field, orchard and vineyard crops. The
main limitations are the slow permeability and depth to the hardpan.
Jack-tone—Urban Land Complex
Depth Liquid Plasticity Percent Permeability Shrink-
In Inches Material Limit Index Clay (Inches/Hour) Swell
0—22 Clay 40 - 60 20 -35 40 - 60 0.06 - 0.2 High
22—34 Clay Loam, Clay, 40 - 60 20 -35 35 - 60 0.06 -0.2 High
Silty Clay
34 -37 Indurated -------- ------- ------- --------- ------
37-46 Loam, Clay 25 -40 5 - 15 20-30 0.2 -0.6 Moderate
Loam,
46-60 Cemented ------- ------- ------- --------- ----------
6.0 Groundwater Elevation and Water Analysis: The San Joaquin County Flood
Control and Water Conservation Map entitled"Lines of Equal Depth To Water Wells,
dated Spring 1999, shows the groundwater table to he at least fifty feet below the ground
surface. The groundwater drops at a rate of one(1) foot for every three-hundred seventy-
six(376) feet traveled in a south east direction.
There are no wells on the subject property so no attempt was made to determine ,3>
DBCP and Nitrate (NO3) concentrations in the ground water.
The general area in the vicinity of the subject property is presently afforded water
service by California Water Service.
7.0 Evaluation of Past and Current Sources of Contamination Identified At Or Near
The Site And Recommendations For Further Action
5.1 Evaluations: Each of the past, present and current sources of contamination are
evaluated in each of the Sections 3.1 through 3.4, 4.0 and 5.0 above.
