Highway 88, Stockton has been reviewed and
tentatively approved by the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department
(EHD). The plan proposes to extract vapors from the soil that has been contaminated
and destroy the vapors by a thermal oxidation process.
EHD has made a tentative determination that the plan is in compliance with local, State
and Federal laws and regulations and that the resultant work will not create significant
adverse environmental impacts which exceed the benefits to be gained from cleanup of
the contamination.
The final remediation plan is available for public review at the EHD, 600 E. Main Street,
Stockton, during normal working hours, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Final approval for
the plan is scheduled for December 3, 2008.
Any questions regarding the site work or procedures should be directed to Margaret
Lagorio, REHS, Program Coordinator at (209) 468-3449.
