The well
produces 30 gallons per minute, and the well water was tested in 1991
and 1997(after the January flood)and the home owner indicated that
test results were OK.
V. GROUND WATER DEPTH AND TESTING
The San Joaquin County Flood Control and Water Conservation District ground water depth
map, Spring 96, does not list the ground water in the area of the subject property. There is a well
located on the east side of the subject property approximately 200 yards east of the proposed
development area that is intended for irrigation. A water sample was obtained on September 25,
1998 from this well and at this time the depth to ground water was approximately 14 feet. The
sample was submitted to the laboratory and tested for the presence of dibromochloropropane
(DBCP). A copy of the test results is included in the appendix. The test results indicate that DBCP
was not detected.
Water samples were previously obtained and tested for nitrate content from test holes located
at the subject site on December 5, 1994 and December 20, 1994. The test results of these samples
were originally submitted in a letter, dated January 16, 1995,to Gene V ocu of Triple E Engineering,
a copy of which is included in the appendix. The December 5, 1994 test results indicated that the
level of nitrate was 48 mg/L,which is above the Maximum Contamination Level(MCL)of 45 mg/L.
Subsequently, an additional ground water sample was obtained at a deeper depth on December 20,
1994. The results of this test indicated that the nitrate level was 26 mg/L,which in below the MCL.
VI.
