OLD RIVER GOLF COURSE
Page No. 2
River levee. At the time of our field investigation, the proposed
building pad had recently been planted in a row crop.
The leach field for the septic system will be located
northwest of the club house, between the club house and the power
transmission line easement.
III FIELD EXPLORATION AND LABORATORY TESTING
The field investigation conducted at this site consisted of
drilling 3 exploratory test borings carried to depths of 9. 5 to
10.0 feet. Test borings B-1 and B-2 were performed at the club
house location and test boring B-3 was performed in the area of the
proposed leach field. The test borings were drilled with a truck
mounted Deep Rock drill rig, utilizing 4 inch continuous flight
auger. The location of the test borings is shown on the location
map, Plate No. 1. The corners of the proposed building pad were
staked and the test borings were located by these corners.
Sampling of test borings B-1 and B-2 was performed at various
depths by a California Modified 2 .5 inch o.d. split spoon sampler
with brass tube liners. The sampler was driven by a 140 pound
hammer with a 30 inch drop. Blow counts required to drive the
sampler every 6 inches were recorded and this information is
presented on the Log of Boring sheet, Plate No. 2 . Test boring B-3
was performed to log the soil strata in the area of the proposed
leach field and no sampling of this boring was performed.
Relatively undisturbed soil samples obtained from the test
borings were preserved in brass tubes until the samples could be
tested in the laboratory. Samples were taken to the laboratory of
Neil O. Anderson & Associates, Inc. , Stockton, California and used
for performing various laboratory tests. Tests performed consisted
of unit weights and moisture contents. A summary of the test
results is presented on the Log of Boring sheet. Pocket
pentrometer readings were also made on select samples and these
readings are presented on the Log of Boring sheet.
A total of 5 sack samples were obtained of surface soil along
proposed roadway alignments for the purpose of performing R-value
_ tests. Samples were obtained from the 0 to 12 inch depth. For
approximate locations of samples see the Location Map. The results
of the R-value tests are presented on Plates No. 5 through 9.
Z W
 O
SSS O G\
r
