ADDITIONAL INFORMATION REQUIRED
TEICHERT AGGREGATES' TRACY ROCK FACILITY
TRACY, SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY
Please provide the following information:
1. Describe the area to be excavated and the projected schedule for each phase. Include estimates of
the amount of sand and gravel that will be produced each year and the volume of washwater that
will be produced.
2. Describe the products that are manufactured or are planned to be manufactured on site (e.g.
asphaltic concrete, concrete, aggregate, etc.).
3. Provide a process flow diagram, processing plant site plan, and a scaled map showing the facility.
4. Describe the generation, transportation, and disposal of all wastewater(wastewater includes
washwater, stormwater, and other sources of wastewater such as vehicle washwater).
5. Provide a copy of the facility's Surface Mining and Reclamation Act plan.
6. Provide a brief description of the geology and hydrogeology of the area. Has the area been
previously mined? Are any areas of the site located within the 100 year flood zone?
7. Because mercury has been detected in wastewater from many sand and gravel operations in
California, all aggregate facilities are required to characterize their wastewater. Teichert
Aggregates is directed to collect samples of the washwater for chemical analysis. Samples shall
be collected from all wastewater/stormwaterponds when wastewater is being discharged to the
pond. The detection limit for the analysis shall be at least 1.0 nanogram/liter. The samples shall
not be filtered prior to digestion and analysis.
8. Describe storage areas and approximate storage amounts of petroleum, hydraulic oils, flocculants,
and other chemicals that are stored or used on site.
9. Describe the disposal of the domestic wastewater generated on site.
10. Do active or abandoned industrial, agricultural, domestic, or groundwater wells exist at the
facility? If yes, provide a map showing their location(s).
11. Projected monthly water balance demonstrating adequate containment capacity for the 100-year
return period total annual precipitation, including consideration of at least:
a. Local evaporation data.
b. Local precipitation data.
c. Projected future wastewater loading rates.
d. Projected long-term percolation rates (including consideration of percolation from lined ponds
and the effects of solids plugging on all ponds).
12. Provide CEQA documentation for the wastewater treatment and disposal system, providing
identification and analysis of potential impacts associated with the facility, and a description of
required mitigation measures. Also include documentation that demonstrates legal resolution of
any CEQA-related issues.
C w4wjdrs it Ter -Truy.I kkwm IIZ..
