The pollution control system uses an Oz sensor mounted In one side of the exhaust manifold. A
microprocessor-controlled system adjusts the ratio of the continually variable fuel gas with air.via a butte*
valve in the air side. The fuel gas quantity is measured and compared to the air quantity. After a PID
oigodthm Is applied to the butterily Volvo, the Oz sensor Is read and musts the ratio of air to fuel for the
next loop through the processor code. This process repeats kx*llnitety and wit odjust the fuel/air ratio
according to the Oz sensor. Using four catalytic converters in parallel, the residual hydrocarbons,CO,and
NOx in the exhaust.gases ore destroyed to low levels
2.2 Process;Description and Operation
A small modular distributed energy biomass power system based on downdraft gasifier technology ti'lcrt
uses high bulk density fuels such as woodchips and nut shells to produce both heat and power. System
options include stationary(enclosure or contolnerized)as well as a mobile trailer version. Systems from 5 kW
to 100 kW are currently under development.
2.3 Power Meter Description
The total electrical power generated by the NOMax 50 system was measured with a Fluke 433 power
meter,SN#DM8910197. This meter was calibrated on 2/28/06 by Advanced Test Equipment Rentals. 10401
Roselle St., San Diego. CA 92121-1503. The certification number is 0000003212. ANSI C12.1 standards
require an accuracy of{plus/minus)2%accuracy. The power meter 4 1.576 accurlate when recording kW.
Power measurements were taken by CPC personnel
2.4 Flue Gas Sampling Locations
Ttds section provides the details for the sampling location including the general source layout and sample
point/port location. Source specific data was verified on site prior to each measurement sequence. A
summary of these locations Is provided In Table 2 below. A detailed I<sfing of the individual flow
measurement test points Is provided in the Appendices.
Table 2 Emissions Duct Conflsuration
Source Parameter
Stack Diameter(Inches) 3.75
Port Diameter(Inches) 2
Port Depth finches) 0
Number of Sample Ports 2 +i
Upstream Distance(Dia) 2.1 f
Downstream Distance(Dia) 21.3
#of Flow Traverse Points 12
ro"rt
TRC ENVIRONMENTAL CORPORATION 49614-0Op0 OpOpp
Q\Pojecls\CPC 4161400000OOObpcsCFC NoMox sfl fhpod Vea2doc
f
i
