A satisfactory percolation rate for a"deep"test is less than or equal to 30 minutes per inch. 6.5 Discussion of Percolation Tests As a result of the percolation testing, both sites evaluated failed to demonstrate a satisfactory percolation rate in accordance with the requirements of the EHD. Due to the unsatisfactory results, two options are available for project approval by the EHD: 1) perform additional percolation tests to locate an area which meets the minimum percolation rate or 2) have the sewage disposal system designed by a Civil Engineer to mitigate poor permeability of the soil which exist in the area. !� 7.0 CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS In summary, an unsatisfactory percolation rate was achieved on both parcels. No ground water was encountered in any of the borings drilled on the property, and the depth to ground water is approximately 110 to 135 feet below the ground surface for the period of Fall 1998 , and Spring 1999. The on-site water well was tested for nitrate and DBCP. DBCP was non- detectable, and nitrate was found at 10.0 mg/L-N031 well below the maximum contaminant limit of 45 mg/L-NO3.
