Main Street, Stockton, Ca. <br /> Dear Mr. Huggins: <br /> Bennett Land Company is in possession of the Notice to Abate dated May <br /> 29, 2007 however the date of receipt is uncertain. This letter is in response to <br /> the Notice to Abate. Prior to receipt of your above referenced letter, Bennett <br /> Land Company was notified by Steve Breakfield of Stockton Unified School <br /> District that an inspection of the property surrounding the new school on East <br /> Main Street in Stockton revealed the presence of an abandon agricultural well. <br /> On the following day, Bennett Land Company retained G & L Brock Construction <br /> to secure the well and eliminate any hazardous situations that may presently or <br /> potentially exist. G & L Brock Construction secured the well in accordance with <br /> our instruction and probably did so after your department's site inspection. <br /> As far as the future, Bennett Land Company is nearly complete with its <br /> entitlement effort through the County and is about ready to file the final <br /> subdivision map. It is our business plan to develop the property or to sell it to a <br /> home builder to complete the subdivision.
