Phase I Environmental Site Assessment <br /> East Main Street,Stockton,Califomia <br /> December 10,2004 <br /> Page 1 I <br /> V <br /> e-Auric Monitor Roundup Ultra <br /> 4.3 PHYSICAL SETTING SOURCES <br /> The sources used for determining the physical setting of the Site were the USGS Stockton East,California <br /> 7.5-Minute Topographic Map, dated 1968 and photorevised 1987, and the Federal Emergency <br /> Management Agency (FEMA) Digital Flood Rate Insurance Map panel 0602990455B. The topographic <br /> maps show the Site properties are located on the outskirts of an urbanized area at an elevation of <br /> approximately 30 feet above mean sea level.The terrain of the Site properties is nearly level with a slight <br /> topographic gradient to the west. The FEMA map indicates that the Site is located in Zone B, which is <br /> between the 100-year and 500-year flood zones. <br /> ` 4.4 HISTORICAL USE INFORMATION FOR THE SITE <br /> Historical use information regarding the Site was researched using aerial photographs located at the San <br /> Joaquin County Surveyor's Office and from the San Joaquin County Geographic Information Systems; <br /> ` and using historical USGS topographic maps and Polk and Haines city directories located at the Stockton <br /> Public Library, Stockton, California. Sanborn Fire Insurance Maps are not available for this area of <br /> Stockton, California. Copies of the topographic maps and aerial photographs are included in Appendix D. <br /> USGS topographic maps dating from 1952, 1968, 1976, and 1987 were reviewed.The 1952 map indicates <br /> the Site is agricultural with a structure and an orchard located immediately northwest of the Site. East (2' <br /> Main Street borders the eastern portion of the northern Site boundary and Mormon Slough borders the <br /> ` Site to the south. On the 1968 map, the orchard area appears to have shifted to small areas in the east, <br /> south, and west. Orchards are not indicated on the 1976 map, only the structure is indicated. An additional <br /> building is indicated west of the existing building on the 1987 map. <br /> Aerial photographs were obtained for the following years: 1937, 1952, 1963, 1975, 1983, 1998, and 2000. <br /> The Site appears to be agricultural fields and orchards. North-south trending single-lane roads appear to �2. 1/ <br /> �. divide Site properties and some of the planted areas. A waterway, designated as Morrison Slough, is <br /> located to the south and a road, designated as East Main Street, is located along a northern portion of the <br /> Site properties. With the exception of field areas and crops, there are no changes apparent in the 1952, <br /> 1963, 1975, 1983, 1998, or 2000 photographs. <br /> The Polk City Directories from 1962 through 2001 were used to research the Site properties. The 2002 <br /> ` Haines Criss + Cross City Directory was also used to research the Site properties. The Site property <br /> located at 4708 East Main Street was listed in 1966-1993 as a produce stand and in 1999 as"not verified." <br /> The property was listed as residential in 2002. This information pertains to the northern portion of APN <br /> • <br /> 173-210-06, which is not part of the Site properties. <br /> 4.5 HISTORICAL USE INFORMATION FOR ADJOINING PROPERTIES <br /> ` Historical use information regarding the adjoining properties was researched using aerial photographs <br /> located at the San Joaquin County Surveyor's Office and using historical USGS topographic maps and <br /> Polk and Haines city directories located at the Stockton Public Library, Stockton,California. Sanborn Fire <br /> Insurance Maps are not available for the adjoining properties.
