• Past Uses of the Site
Based on information reviewed for the Surface & Subsurface Contamination Report
(Live Oak, 2016), the Site has been orchard since 1937 or earlier. Ms. Roddan
indicated that one house was built in 1999, the second in 2001, and the nursery in 2008.
Existing and Proposed Septic Tank Usage
Existing Septic System
Three septic systems are currently located on the Site, one for each house and one for
the nursery building.
Proposed Septic System
No new construction is planned.
On-Site Septic Permit History
Live Oak searched the septic system permits on file at the San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Department; three septic permits were identified for the Site
addresses.
• • October 1999 permit for new septic system at house. The permit indicates a
1,600-gallon tank and three 80-foot leach lines (23585).
• May 2002 permit for new septic system at house. The permit indicates a 2,000-
gallon tank and four 80-foot leach line (23601).
• April 2007 permit for new septic system at nursery. The permit indicates a 1,200-
gallon tank and three 100-foot leach line (23563).
These permits are included in Appendix 4 of this report.
Existing Septic Tank Usage in the Vicinity
To estimate the existing septic system usage in the area, our office counted septic
systems located within approximately one square mile surrounding the property. Aerial
imagery from Google Earth was used. Each building cluster on the photograph was
assumed to have one septic system. Using this method, it is estimated that 32 or more
septic systems per square mile are present in the immediate vicinity of the Site.
The general area consists of orchards and open, agricultural land with scattered rural
residences along the roadways.
•
LOGE 1718 Page 2
