Cantrans has indicated to the City in recent years that the Roth Road/Interstate 5
interchange will be improved and/or reconstructed in the future, and that adjacent
frontage roads will be required to shift away from the freeway. This poses a problem
with the proposed truck stop facility, as a portion of it falls on land between Manthey
Road and the southbound freeway on-ramp. Coordination with Caltrans for this project is
very important.
Without a larger site plan and more information on the development,it is probably premature to
comment in detail on the proposal. Since it is possible this area could be annexed to the City of
Lathrop in the future, we are concerned about not only the impact of the proposal on the city but
also the appearance of the improvements.
Again, we appreciate this being referred to us for comment and look forward on working with
the Community Development Department on this project.
