)WG 19 1992
August 17 , 1992
'`.. OrnNUIVIIY UtVtLU -,',,- 1 Ut"!.
Mr . Chandler T . Martin PLMNING DMS!!'N
San Joaquin County Planning Division
!810 East Hazleton
Stockton , CA 95205
RE : Application No . MS-92-0169
Applicant : Khurschid Kahn c/o Siegfried & Assoc .
Dear Mr . Martin :
We object to splitting this parcel of 37 . 8 acres to create a 10-acre
owner-operator homesite parcel . The applicant has owned ( or operated )
this parcel for the last couple of years . The parcel is primarily
planted in walnuts . in the last two seasons he has literally let the
property go to pot . Last year he irrigated only once , the year before
he attemvted to irrigate twice . Last year the property was never
harvested , and the year before a half-hearted attempt was made to
harvest .
Now, apparently because he wants to sell one of the parcels ,
he ' s spending some time out there discing and irrigating to make it
all look nice . Heaven help the poor soul who comes along and buys an
orchard that is so stressed .
,. The tiny house on parcel No 1 . is the same story . It looked in the
beginning like he was going to renovate and rebuild the little house
to make it livable . He tore all the old siding off , propped up the
porch, and then abandoned the project For a year , exposing the studs
and the interior to the elements . A half-hearted attempt was made
during the winter to protect it by tacking up tarpaper , but the wind
soon blew that all off , and there it sat for several months .
Again , because he probably wants to sell one of the parcels , he is
making a shabby attempt to fix it . Does this sound like his
intentions are to keep this or these parcels for farm land? There is
already a homesite here . No need to subdivide and trash two parcels .
He ' s doing that now to one .
There is no comparison to recent minor subdivision splits in the area
because of the respect other parcel owners or purchasers have had for
the land or the use thereof for farm purposes .
Sincerely ,
Harry & Jacqueline E . Brodie
6154 S . Mobley Road
Stockton , CA 95215 ( 209 ) 886-5501
-19-
