Interstate 5 also provides regional access to Tracy,
Manteca, and Stockton.
Interstate 205 is a four-lane inter-regional facility
serving the City of Tracy between 1-5 and 1-580 . Highway
120 is a four-lane freeway serving the City of Manteca and
also providing an important link between I-5 and State
Route 99.
Manthey Road and Mossdale Road are two lane frontage roads
parallel and adjacent to I-5, and provide access to the I-5
southbound and northbound ramps respectively. An underpass
connects the two frontage roads between the freeway access
ramp intersections . Manthey Road continues north as an 1-5
frontage road, which terminates at Eighth Street in the
City of Stockton.
Topography:
The project topography is exhibited on a portion of the
Lathrop 7 . 5 minute U . S . G. S . quadrangle map, and is located
within Assessor' s Parcel Numbers 239-030-09, 239-040-04 and
239-040-07 , T2S, R6E M. D. B.M.
The project is comprised of flat, nearly level farmland
averaging +15' M. S . L. , situated entirely within Reclamation
District 2107 (F. I . R.M. Zone AE) and is protected from
flooding from the San Joaquin River and Paradise Cut by a
15' -17' high levee, which is maintained by the Reclamation
District . The San Joaquin river elevations are typically
±4' M. S.L. Irrigation water is pumped up from the river
into concrete lined irrigation ditches and distributed to
the crops . There are no streambeds on the property. No
mining will occur in or near any wetland, pond, stream,
river, or floodway. Consistent with the current permit, no
excavation will occur within 300' of the landside levee
toe .
B . Geology:
The project site is located in California' s Great Central
Valley physiographic province. The valley is filled with
Tertiary and Quaternary clastic sediments to depths of
greater than 20, 000 feet. The site lies within and adjacent
to Resource Sector "D" and is classified as a Mineral
Resource Zone - 2 (MRZ-2) . This area meets SMARA
(California Surface Mining and Reclamation Act) guidelines
