Past Uses of the Site
Based on information reviewed for the Surface & Subsurface Contamination Report
(Live Oak, 2015), the Site has been used for irrigated agriculture since 1937 or earlier.
The house on the Site was constructed in 2005.
Existing and Proposed Septic Tank Usage
Existing Septic System
According to the tentative parcel map (Quartaroli, 2015), one septic system is currently
located on the Site to service the house.
Proposed Septic System
Ms. Van Groningen indicated that, beyond a pool house under construction to the
northeast of the residence, no new construction is planned.
On-Site Septic Permit History
One septic system permit for the Site was identified at the San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Department. The permit, dated November 2005, is for a new
residential septic system. The system utilizes a 1,600-gallon tank, three 40' leach lines,
and three 36"-diameter by 25'-deep seepage pits. A copy of the permit has been
included in Appendix 4 of this report.
Existing Septic Tank Usage in the Vicinity
To estimate the existing septic system usage in the area, our office counted septic
systems that exist within approximately one square mile surrounding the property.
Aerial imagery from GoogleEarth was used. Each building cluster on the photograph
was assumed to have one septic system. Using this method, it is estimated that seven
or more septic systems per square mile are present in the immediate vicinity of the Site.
The general area consists of open, agricultural land with scattered rural residences. A
poultry farm is located to the southwest of the Site.
Septic Permit History in the Vicinity
Based on a recent review of septic permits on file at the San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Department for nearby properties, it appears that the septic
systems in the area utilize leach lines, leach lines with sumps, and leach lines with
seepage pits. The septic permits can be found in Appendix 4 of this report.
LOGE 1515 Page 2
