L
LMarch 23, 2006
NOA Project Number: E06019A
LThe surrounding manure pond may impact the surrounding groundwater. tF,/
j 5.0 CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS
ift
Agricultural chemicals may have been applied on the property in the past. The property is reported to
be used as agricultural land and may be farmed in the future. Therefore,no sampling of onsite soils is
currently recommended.
LLSeveral drums and an oil leak near the irrigation well were observed on the subject property during the
site visit. Several of these drums contain oil and appear to have leaked onto the ground surface. The
amount and depth of oil contamination in the soil is not part of the scope of work in this report.Further i
investigation is needed to identify depth and concentration of the oil contamination at the subject
property.
C A trailer was observed on the property and oil stains were reported on equipment and the floor of the
trailer. The ground surface beneath the trailer was not observed. If the trailer is moved, an
environmental professional should be retained to identify any possible soil contamination in the area
Lof the trailer.
The leaking drums, waste oil, stained soil, tires and other debris on the subject property need to be /
Lremoved and disposed in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations. r'
Should the future residents of the subject property be interested in determining the quality of their
F drinking water, EHD should be contacted for direction regarding the potential for impacts to
L groundwater from the agricultural history of the property and vicinity.
If Ms.Moules or the EHD are concerned about potential nitrate problems on the subject property from
L its past uses for raising domestic animals and the surrounding dairies, soil samples could be collected
and analyzed to determine soil quality.
LThe oil staining around the irrigation well should be cleaned. Any wells or septic systems identified
which will not remain in use should be abandoned under EHD oversight. Any additional infrastructure
or buried debris that may be encountered during site grading or development should be removed and
Ldisposed of in accordance with all applicable regulations.
6.0 LIMITATIONS
This report was compiled as a Surface and Subsurface Contamination Report for the subject property. (y 29
This report contains information and data provided to NOA by several sources. NOA in no way
warrants the accuracy or completeness of the information provided to this investigation by those
sources.
i
60
9
L '-'44
L
