In the 1998 photo, the northern portion of the Site has been cleared of orchard. An <br /> adjacent parcel to the northwest has been planted with orchard. A communications <br /> tower can be seen to the west of the Site. No other significant changes are apparent. <br /> In the 2007 photo, the northern portion of the Site appears to be divided into two <br /> separate fields by a field road; the irrigation well can be seen near the center of this <br /> road. No other significant changes are apparent. <br /> These photos are included in Appendix 3 of this report. <br /> 4.0 SITE INSPECTION <br /> David Welch of Live Oak inspected the site on May 3, 2010. Photographs of the Site <br /> are attached to this report as Appendix 2. <br /> The Site is made up of two parcels. The southern parcel is an almond orchard with a <br /> rural residence; the northern parcel is a field currently planted with wheat. One <br /> domestic well, one septic system, and a swimming pool are located near the residence. <br /> One pole-mounted transformer that appeared blackened and possibly damaged was <br /> observed near the residence; no soil staining was evident beneath the transformer. Six <br /> additional transformers were observed on the Site. <br /> Two irrigation wells ere observed on the Site, one for the northern parcel and one for <br /> outl�ern f�brush pile was observed near the center of the Site. <br /> The adjacent land consists of orchards and wheat field, with scattered rural residences. <br /> To the west of the Site, across Jack Tone Road, is a communications tower. An above- <br /> ground fuel tank was observed at this facility. <br /> 5.0 INTERVIEWS <br /> 5.1 Interview with Property Owners <br /> John Van Groningen was interviewed by telephone on April 15, 2010. He indicated that <br /> the southern parcel is owned by his father, Arthur Van Groningen. The northern parcel <br /> is currently owned by Dan Myers; the Van Groningens are leasing it for farming. The <br /> southern parcel has been in the family for over 50 years. Mr. Van Groningen indicated <br /> that the residence on the Site was constructed in 1976. He indicated that no chemical <br /> mixing or storage takes place on the Site. He was not aware of any contamination, <br /> dumping, or other environmental issues on or adjacent to the Site. <br /> LOGE1009 Page 3 <br />
