I
Methomyl (tannate) is a broad-spectrum insecticide and acaricide. It has a high acute
toxicity to humans, a half-life in soil of approximately 14 days, and a half-life in water of
six days to 25 weeks, depending on the level of aeration_
Permethrin (Perm-up 3.2, Permethrin 3.2) is a broad-spectrum insecticide with a low
toxicity to humans. It has a half-life of three to six weeks. Permethrin binds strongly to
soil particles and is practically insoluble in water.
Simazine (Sim Trol 4L) is a selective triazine herbicide used to control broad-leaved
weeds and annual grasses. It is highly toxic by inhalation, moderately toxic by
ingestion, and slightly toxic by dermal exposure. Simazine is persistent, with residual
activity remaining for two to seven months after application. It does not adsorb strongly
to soil particles and has a low solubility in water.
Aluminum phosphide (Weevil-tide) is used to control insects and rodents. It is available
as a fumigant as well as in pellets and tablets, tablets were applied to this Site. The
compound is highly toxic through both ingestion and inhalation. Because it breaks
down in the presence of water to form a gaseous product, it is considered non-
persistent and non-mobile.
7.5 Department of Oil, Gas, and,Geothermal Resources Maps
The California Department of Oil, Gas, and Geothermal Resources (DOGGR) Online
Mapping System (DOMS) was queried on April 19, 2010 for mapped oil or gas wells
within one-quarter mile of the subject Site. It appears that one plugged and abandoned
dry hole, Great Basins Petroleum Company's "Great Basins-Wilson" 1 (API 07700378),
is located on the Site. The well was drilled in 1959 and abandoned under the oversight
of the Division of Oil and Gas in 1960. Records related to this well are included in
Appendix 4.
7.6_ _ National Pipeline Mapping System Database
Live Oak reviewed the National Pipeline Mapping System (NPMS) database on April 19,
2010 for evidence of hazardous materials pipelines within one-quarter mile of the Site.
No pipelines were identified within the search area.
LOGE1009 1 Page 8
