(§ 6.1)Percolation testing was conducted on proposed Parcels 1,2, 3 and 4 as illustrated on the Tentative
Map found in Appendix C. These test locations maintain sufficient distance between future septic systems
that may be installed and surrounding wells. The following information describes the preparation of the
percolation test borings and the actual perc testing:
(§6.2,6.3 and 6.5) On September 14, 2005, 1140 hrs, one shallow perc test boring and one deeper test
boring, varying from 9.5 to 21 feet were drilled with a truck mounted drill rig on proposed Parcels 1, 2, 3 and
4. The sidewalls of the shallow borings were scored with a pry-bar and the loose material removed. Two
inches of fine gravel was placed at the bottom and three-inch perforated PVC pipe was inserted in each of the
test borings. All borings were pre-saturated on September 15, 2005 at 0900 hrs with 12 inches of water.
(§6.4)On September 16, 2005, 0805 hrs, percolation testing commenced for all eight borings. There was
standing water after the 24-hour soak period in all four of the shallow perc tests borings, as illustrated in Table
1 below. Consequently,EHD Perc Test Procedure#1 was conducted for these two borings.
There was no standing water after the 24-hour soak period in the four deep test borings. Therefore,
Percolation EHD Test Procedure#2 was performed for these borings. The last half hoar of the tests was
witnessed by Lisa Medina of the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department. The maximum
acceptable perc rate is 60 min/in for shallow perc tests and 30 min/in for the deep tests.
V (§ 5.4 and 6.8)The following Table illustrates the proposed Parcel number, potential septic system structure
based on depth of passing perc rates, proposed acreage, post soak period status and perc test results for the
respective perc test depths:
TABLE 1
PERCOLATION TEST RESULTS
PROPOSED PARCEL PROPOSED PERC TEST DEPTHS: POST SOAK PERC TEST
AND POTENTIAL ACREAGE SHALLOW PERIOD RESULTS
SEPTIC SYSTEM DEEP STATUS
STRUCTURE
Parcel r 5.0 Acres 42 INCHES —4Inches FAILED
Leachlines and Sumps Standing Water (0 min/in)
114 INCHES(9.5 FEET) No Standing 3"VEMt/in
Water in Hole
Parcel 2 5.0 Acres 42 INCHES —3Inches FAILED
Leachlines and Limited Standing Water (0 min/in)
Depth Seepage Pits
252 INCHES(21 FEET) No Standing 449.wwLin
Water in Hole
Parcel 5.0 Acres 42 INCHES 5Inches FAILED
Leachlines and Limited Standing Water (250 min/in)
Depth Seepage Pits
240 INCHES(20 FEET) No standing
Water in Hole
Parcel 4 5.0 Acres 42 INCHES —3 Inches FAILED
Leachlines and Limited standing Water (250 min/in)
Depth Seepage Pits
240 INCHES(20 FEET) No Standing . min/in
Water in Hole
Page-3-
Chesney Consulting
