Zimbra
Cell Tower Relocation
From :jefftpfarr@aol.com
Subject : Cell Tower Relocation
To : gsanfilippo@sjgov.org
Dear Giuseppe Sanfilippo
gsanfilippo@sjgov.org
Wed, May 29, 2019 02:14 PM
Let me start by introducing myself. My name is Jeffrey Pfarr and I am a resident of Ripon Ca for more than 4
years now. My family and I moved from Modesto in 2015 to the Jewel of the Valley. Our thought was that
raising our two little girls in this "safe" and "family friendly" town would allow them to grow up and appreciate the
sacrifices we made so that they could live a long, healthy, and prosperous life. Our oldest daughter is 5 years
old and attends Ripon Grace preschool. Her sister is 16 months old and attends daycare near Weston
Elementary School.
Over the past couple of months Ripon has been inundated with news stories that pertain to the safety of our
children. The first being the link between cancer from cell phone tower radiation that was being emitted from the
Sprint tower located on Weston Elementary School grounds. This caused my wife and I great concern because
the proximity of the cell tower and our baby's daycare. It has been scientifically proven that young children, with
developing cells, are more susceptible to the health risk this cell tower represents. As parents we can't fathom
the pain and suffering experienced by the children and parents affected by the original tower. No child should
have to experience being diagnosed at such a young age with this horrible disease. The coincidence that so
many children and teachers have been diagnosed in the same general area is very suspicious.
With such an uproar from residents Sprint felt the pressure to shut off the tower. A win for the residents of
Ripon. My wife and I were relieved, but Sprint seemed to feel no remorse for pain inflicted on these residents.
Their only concern seems to be the lost profits from their cell tower. Now a couple of months later I receive a
letter in my mail from the county stating that Sprint has found a new location to erect another tower. My family
is within the projected radius of radiation that will be emitted. I cannot believe they chose to place the new
tower adjacent to another residential neighborhood. Why would they choose to put additional residents at
risk! The letters only went out to residents within the radius of the tower, not everyone in the city, probably
because the company doesn't want any resistance..
Sprint has found an elderly couple with some acreage willing to place a new tower on their property. This couple
may have agreed for financial gain. They may, or may not, be aware of the health risk associated with the
tower. If they have not followed the news regarding these health risk, it is critical that they be provided this
information. I will be sending them a copy of this email but the city, and other residents, should also reach out
to this couple. We as residents and our representatives in the city need to come together and stop
this corporation from putting our lives at risk. Doesn't the city care about the residents? Why are affected
residents having to stop this from happening.
Since Sprint has to relocate the tower to another location, they have decided to make the new tower twice as
tall and more powerful with 5G capabilities. My neighbor and I have been researching the effects of 5G and find
they have banded the emission of 5g in many Bay Area locations due to the health risk it poses. Please tell me
why we "Need" this cell tower in our city at all. According to reports the cell tower has a 30 -mile range. If that
is the case, why don't they put it way out in a field between Manteca and Ripon as opposed to right on the edge
of town?
It is no easy feat affording a house in Ripon. If you ask anyone, they will say Ripon is very high priced. What
am I getting for affording to live here? We want our kids to be safe and we are pleased that the police keep this
area so safe. The schools are great, and we know they will be well prepared for their higher education. We
would be terribly disappointed if we were forced to leave because of health concerns. Those benefits are
