Box.1336
4. fiuNty p
Apache-,Junction, AZ'8521;7 elppmnt peR ,
San Joaquan County #c
' r
Community Development Department
_ 5
18180.E Hazelton Ave.. 5 t
Stockton;:CA'9520526232~
Attn: Mr. kaymbn&Hoo
Dear Sir:
In regard to the application number PA-0500424 (UP) we would, like to protest
any consideration of.approving the permit requested.
We own 40 acres across and slightly west on East Jahant Road from the
proposed winery. We are in the process of-getting architectural plans completed
in order to build our 6000 square foot single story residence with a basement.
We have a local (Lodi) custom homebuilder and the financing to start the home
in approximately six months.
We picked the location for our future homesite several years ago because of its
rural and agricultural nature. We feel that a project as large as the proposed
one is entirely inappropriate for this location. There many reasons that we feel
the permit should be denied.
The volume of traffic, the size of the vehicles, the continuous traffic on the rural
road (Jahant), required to construct and operate this facility would impact the
area in a dangerously negative way. The development process will also destroy
the tranquility of the rural area.
In addition we have an agricultural well and two domestic wells on our property
that would be negatively affected by the large amount of water that would be
consumed for this operation. This water consumption will conflict with our
plans of developing our property. We are going to establish a 36 acre walnut
orchard on the remaining property.
I believe 100% of the residents in the area strongly desire that this permit be
denied.
Sincerely, CG'"-
Albert and Billie Thomas
