Soil Suitability Study Sheet 3 of 5
There is an existing well at the mobile home
located on the west side of the subject property.
Soil Profile Test :
Excavation for the 25-foot percolation tests
comprise the Soil Profile Test . Two percolation
test holes were dug to a maximum depth of
twenty-five feet and both were of the same
character . This excavation was performed at the
locations shown on the attached Parcel :Kap.
No water was encountered in excavating to the
25-foot depth. The San Joaquin County Flood Control
and Water Conservation Map entitled "Lines Of Equal
Elevation Of Water In Wells" dated F444-1990 sh-ows
the water depth between thirty (30) and forty (40)
feet . 70 / -(:68o
Three basic soil layers were found—+n--i-excavating to
the 25-foot depth for the Soil Profile Test . The
first layer immediately below the ground surface to
a depth of about three (3) feet is a grey clay
material . From about three (3) feet below the
ground surface to a depth of about twenty-five (25)
feet , the soil is a reddish brown clay and right at
twenty-five ( 25) feet a silty sand was encountered.
Percolation Tests :
Six ( 6) percolation tests holes were excavated.
Four were excavated to a depth of three (3) feet
and two were excavated to a depth of twenty-five
(25) feet . Two of the four percolation test holes
that were excavated to the 3-foot depth were
situate at the south end of the subject property
between the second and third rows of grapes . One
was situate on Parcel Ito . 1 and the other situate
on Parcel No . 2 . They are not shown on the attached
Parcel Nap . however , because these test holes were
abandoned after excavation due to the poor quality
of the soil encountered. The four excavated
percolation test holes tested are located on the
east end of the property as shown on the attached
Parcel Map. Two are on Parcel No . 1 and two are on
Parcel No . 2 .
All percolation tests conducted were performed in
accordance with the percolation test procedures
outlined in the "Manual Of Septic Tank Practice" ,
Anthony and Wilma Lopez --- MS-91 -91
