June16,2004 <br /> NOA ENVIRONMENTAL PROJECT NUMBER E04056A <br /> Page 6 <br /> 6' V 3.1.3 San Joaquin County Office ofEmergency Services <br /> ` The San Joaquin County Office of Emergency Services (SJOES)'was contacted in an attempt to <br /> determine if there are any files present at that agency which note any hazardous materials releases or <br /> spills on the subject property or in the vicinity of the subject property. According to Ms. Michelle <br /> LHalliwell of the OES,no incident reports are on file at that agency for the subject property (personal <br /> communication,June 7,2004). However, two (2) spills were reported in the vicinity of Jahant and <br /> Bruella Roads. After reviewing the reports on these spills,NOA determined that due to the size an <br /> Lnature of the incidents, they do not pose a threat to the subject property. <br /> A review of the "Notification of Hazardous Waste Discharge" files within one-quarter mile of the <br /> Lsubject property was conducted on June 4, 2004. After searching the files back to 1994,no such <br /> notices were found. <br /> L <br /> ✓ 3.1.4 Liberty Fire Protection District <br /> The Liberty Fire District in Acampo (located within one-half mile of the subject property) was <br /> Lcontacted by telephone in an attempt to determine if any hazardous materials releases or spills <br /> occurred on the subject property or in the vicinity of the subject property. Karen Kammerer, <br /> Secretary for the District, stated' she has worked for the District for almost thirteen years and she <br /> Lrecalls no haz mat incidents in the vicinity of the subject property. <br /> 3.L5 San Joaquin County Agricultural Commissioner <br /> LThe San Joaquin County Agricultural Commissioner's Offices was contacted in an effort to <br /> determine whether the subject property had been used in the past for agricultural purposes,and <br /> Lwhether agricultural chemicals had been used on the subject property. <br /> From inspection of records provided by Hazel Gallego of the Agricultural Commissioner's Office,it <br /> L appears that two walnut orchards divided by a vineyard have been grown on the subject property <br /> (see Site Map in Appendix A for approximate locations of these crops) During the years from <br /> 1998 through 2004,both crops have been permitted for the use of strychnine and paraquat. In <br /> L 2004, the walnut orchards were permitted for the use of Sevin as well.
