Paraquat is a Restricted Use Pesticide and a highly toxic <br /> compound in EPA toxicity class I. Paraquat is also highly persistent in the soil environment,with <br /> reported field half-lives of greater than 1,000 days (EXTOXNET�. <br /> L <br /> V 3.Z6 Water Supply and Sewage Disposal System <br /> I <br /> The EHD well and septic permit files were searched on June 4, 2004 in an effort to obtain copies of <br /> permits for any water wells or septic tanks on the subject property. A permit was issued by EHD on <br /> November 1, 1972 for a new well and installation of a 30 HP turbine pump; the final inspection was <br /> signed August 2, 1973. A permit was issued by EHD on April 29, 1974 for a"...change in the present <br /> septic system...";the map showed the system was located east of the house located along Jahant Road; <br /> the final inspection was signed April 25, 1974. NOA could not find any other records for water wells <br /> L or septic tanks on the subject property; however, it was noted by staff of the Department of <br /> Environmental Health, that this does not mean they do not exist. <br /> L3.1.7 California Integrated Waste Management Board <br /> j The Solid Waste Information System(SWIS)database is maintained by the California Integrated Waste <br /> L Management Board (CIWMB). The SWIS database contains an inventory of solid waste disposal <br /> facilities or landfills. These may be active or inactive facilities or open dumps that failed to meet RCRA <br /> Section 2204 criteria for solid waste landfills or disposal sites. <br /> The SWIS database was reviewed online on June 7, 2004;the subject property did not appear on the <br /> j SWIS database at that time. The SWIS database listed no (0) sites,within a one-quarter mile radius of <br /> 1. the subject property. <br /> 3.1.8 Department of Oil, Gas, and Geothermal Resources <br /> L <br /> According to well field map #611, published by the California Division of Oil, Gas and Geothermal <br /> Resources (DOGGR), one (1) gas well is located near the west boundary of the subject property and <br /> eleven(11)such wells are located within one-half mile of the subject property. Review of the DOGGR <br /> maps and wells records10 show that the well near the west boundary of the subject property was <br /> "plugged and abandoned" in March 1972.
