June16,2004 NOA ENVIRONMENTAL PROJECT NUMBER E04056A Page 4 2.3 USGS Topographic Maps The topographic quadrangle depicting the subject property is the U.S. Geological Survey,Lockeford, California,7.5 minute Series(topographic)quadrangle map. The Lockeford quadrangle editions of 1968 and photorevised 1979 and were reviewed. In these maps,the subject property is depicted as a relatively flat area that slopes gently to the west;it is noted as being in the `Lodi Gas Field'. The subject property is depicted at approximately 85 feet above mean sea level. In the 1969 map the property has a gas well on its western edge and a water well Lin the southwest corner.There are also several other water wells and gas wells in the vicinity. In 1979 topographic map the structures and wells on the subject property did not change but there are several more gas wells and new buildings and roads in the vicinity. A copy of the depiction these two maps is included in Appendix C of this report. 6. / 2.4 Interviews An attempt was made to obtain historical as well as current information relative to the subject property from the property owner or key site manager of the property.The objective of the interview process is to obtain information indicating recognized environmental conditions in L connection with the proposed project site. An Environmental Questionnaire and Disclosure Statement was completed by Ms. Stacey Griffith, the current property owner, for use by NOA for this report. A copy of her responses to Part 1 of the Questionnaire has been included in this report as Appendix D. Ms. Griffith reported that she recently purchased the subject property and she attempted to forward 1 L Part 2 of the Questionnaire to the former owner,Miguel Estrada. Mr. Estrada apparently has moved to Arizona and his realtor has not returned calls to Ms. Griffith. Mr.John Shoup,the land surveyor Ms. Griffith engaged to describe this property,has lived in the Acampo area most of his life and has been aware of the subject property in general terms for the last ten (10) years. Mr. Shoup was interviewed by telephone at 1 PM on June 9, 2004 regarding former ` uses of the property. He began the conversation by explaining that he was never responsible for L operations on the property,nor did he visit the subject property prior to his recent surveying work. As such,he specifically does not take any responsibility for the accuracy of his recollections or omissions that may come to light according to other sources. Mr. Shoup stated that, during at least the past ten years the property has been utilized as a walnut orchard and grape vineyard with the crops located in essentially the same location as today. The only structures on the property he L recalls were a residence (including minor additions over time), two garages or storage buildings and a pole barn further to the east along Jahant Road. He further stated that an above-ground fuel tank (probably diesel)was located between the storage buildings and the pole bam;the exact location of the tank was not part of his recollections.
