Jerusalem Airport is located to the west, the San Joaquin River Club residential
subdivision is located to the east, and an orchard is located to the southwest. A gas
pipeline marker was observed along Durham Ferry Road.
5.0 INTERVIEWS
5.1 Interview with Property Owners
Daryll Quaresma was interviewed in person during the site visit. He indicated that Pat
and Garret Hoffman are the owners of the Site; however, he will soon be talking
ownership of half the land. They acquired the property about four weeks ago. Mr.
Quaresma had little knowledge of the property, though he indicated that it has been
used recently to grow tomatoes, wheat, and alfalfa. He stated that the land is leased to
Joe Lombardi and that he will not be allowed to make any changes to the Site until the
lease expires. At the end of the lease, Mr. Quaresma plans to remove the trailers and
any remaining surface debris from the Site.
A worker on the Site named Ben, who was the foreman for many years, was also
interviewed during the site visit. Ben stated that two underground storage tanks were
removed from the Site over 20 years ago. A diesel tank was removed from
approximately the current location of the above-ground storage tanks, and a gasoline
tank was removed from the northern corner of the southern shop. He stated that three
septic systems are present on the site. One system is connected to each of the mobile
homes. A third system, located under the central of the three trailers, is connected to
two of the trailers as well as to the southern shop by way of a line that runs under the
field road.
6.0 SITE DOCUMENTS
6.1 Environmental Health Department Records
Records for the Site address of 29665 South Kasson Road were reviewed at the EHD
on March 24, 2011. On file was a Small Quantity Hazardous Waste Generator permit
valid through December 31, 2010; the facility reportedly generates less than five tons of
hazardous waste per year. An Underground Storage Tank permit application from
August 1989 was on file. The permit indicated that one tank was no longer present on
the Site; no other information was provided. An Aboveground Petroleum Storage Tank
Program Survey Form from February 2009 was also on file; it indicated that one 10,000-
gallon diesel tank, one 1,000-gallon gasoline tank, one 300-gallon waste oil tank, one
110-gallon hydraulic oil tank, and 275 gallons of waste oil in containers (five 55-gallon
drums) are stored on the Site.
LOGE 1115 Page 5
