• PG&E Vernalis, Durham Ferry Road eight miles southeast of Tracy. According
to GeoTracker, a leak was reported in 1965, and the drinking water aquifer was
impacted with petroleum, fuels, oils, and benzene. The case was closed in 2002.
The exact location of this facility is not apparent. However, based on review of
historical aerial photographs, there is no evidence of structures along Durham
Ferry Road within one-quarter mile of the project Site.
7.2 Environmental Health Department Databases
Live Oak reviewed two databases maintained by the EHD, the Underground Storage
Tank Site Mitigation List, dated May 7, 2010, and the Unit IV Sites (LOP) list, dated May
2010, for surrounding facilities of concern. One listed facility was found within one-
quarter mile of the subject Site.
• Alegre Trucking, 28902 Kasson Road. Although the access road for this property
is within the quarter-mile radius of the Site, the majority of the property is located
over one mile northeast. An environmental assessment was conducted on the
property; the case is closed.
Live Oak reviewed the EHD's Water Well Data Table dated March 10, 2009 for nearby
addresses that have been tested for nitrate and dibromochloropropane (DBCP). Three
nearby wells were identified at addresses located within approximately 1.5 miles of the
Site. None of the wells had been tested for DBCP. Nitrate as NO3 was detected in all
three wells at concentrations of 8.0 to 25.5 parts per million (ppm). The Maximum
Contaminant Level (MCL) set by the US EPA for nitrate as NO3 is 45 ppm.
7.3 Office of Emergency Services Databases
The San Joaquin County Office of Emergency Services (OES) Hazardous Materials
Management Program (HMMP) Compliance Website was searched on March 25, 2011.
An Agricultural Hazardous Materials Inventory was identified for the Site address under
the name of J. Lombardi Farms; the inventory was not accessible due to security
restrictions.
Michelle Halliwell of the OES was interviewed by telephone on March 25, 2011. She
indicated at this time that no hazardous materials incident reports are on file in the OES
database for the Site address. Three reports for a nearby incidents were on file:
• Durham Ferry Rd. 1 mile west of Kasson Rd., 2001. Six five-gallon pails of
waste oil were reported abandoned; OES was not able to locate them.
• Kasson Rd. one mile south of Linne Rd., 2003. Drug lab waste reported
abandoned; the materials were removed for disposal.
LOGE 1115 Page 7
