San Joaquin County Planning Commission UC E N ELI
1810 E. Hazelton
R
Stockton, Ca
ATTN: Mr. Steve St. Sure
PLANNiNG GlViSION
RE: SCHULTZ TRUCKING COMPANY
Dear Mr. St. Sure,
On Sunday, February 24 , 1991 , 1 drove to Kennefick Rd. in Acampo, California
to view the Schultz Trucking Company grounds. The following is what I found:
1 . Hilled pasture land with various degrees of drainage.
2. Narrow county roads in dis-repair.
3. Dirt shoulders (off-road) which are severely broken down and damaged .
4. Narrow, inadequate access to an industrial facility.
5. A petroleum product odor was in the air.
It is apparent to me that Mr. Schultz is violating land and air quality
standards. The trucking company has been allowed to operate on borrowed
land and borrowed time.
Mr. Schultz should be made to quit and vacate the area as soon as possible.
Mr. Schultz has been allowed to violate all permit and fees requests for
several years. He has blatantly ignored all regulations regarding trucking
firms and is causing an environmental hardship on his neighbors .
Trucking companies of this size and magnitude are primarily located on
industrial sites out of the country and close to a freeway or highway access.
The Schultz Trucking Company should be relocated to one of these areas.
I feel that Mr. Schultz should be held responsible for the damage he has
caused to the water and roadway system. He should repay the county for
all fees uncollected at this time. He should cease all operations im-
mediately until he has found a more adequate location for his trucking
firm.
Sincerely,
Susan Lombardi
Interested environmentalist
