Past Uses of the Site
Based on information reviewed for the Surface & Subsurface Contamination Report
(Live Oak, 2012), the Site has been agricultural land since 1937 or earlier. The G
residence was constructed in 2006.
Existina and Proposed Septic Tank Usage
Existing Septic System
According to the tentative parcel map (Farley's Surveying, 2012), one septic system
exists on the Site to serve the residence.
Proposed Septic System
According to Ms. Pendergrass, no new construction is planned for the Site at this time.
However, County regulations permit a second dwelling unit to be placed on the
homesite parcel at some point in the future. Any new residence would utilize a new
septic system.
On-Site Septic Permit History
One permit related to septic systems for the Site address was identified at the San
Joaquin County Environmental Health Department. The permit, dated July 2006, is for
a new septic system to serve the residence. The system utilizes a 1,600-gallon septic
tank, two 40-foot leach lines, and two 36-inch diameter by 25-foot deep seepage pits.
This permit is included in Appendix 4.
Existing Septic Tank Usage in the Vicinity
To estimate the existing septic system usage in the area, our office counted septic
systems that exist within approximately one square mile surrounding the property. Air
photo imagery from GoogleEarthTM was used. Each building cluster on the photo was
assumed to have one septic system. Using this method, it is estimated that 11 or more
septic systems per square mile are present in the immediate vicinity of the Site.
The general area consists of open agricultural land and orchards with scattered rural
residences.
Septic Permit History in the Vicinity
Based on a recent review of septic permits on file at the San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Department for nearby properties, the septic systems in the area
utilize leach lines and seepage pits. The septic permits can be found in Appendix 4 of
this report. l
LOGE 1221 Page 2
