November 30, 2007
SOIL SUITABILITY STUDY
GOEHRING PROPERTY
21803 E. KE17LEMAN LANE
CLEMENTS, CALIFORNIA
OUR PROJECT NUMBER: E07182A
1.0 INTRODUCTION AND PROPOSED DEVELOPMENT
Our office was contracted by Brad Goehring of Clements to conduct a soil suitability study for
the property at 21803 E. Kettleman Lane, Clements, California.
The soil suitability study (SSS) was conducted to determine whether the soils are suitable for
use with a septic system. The study was performed according to the requirements of Section
9-1105.2(d) of the San Joaquin County Development code. A major element of the field work
included conducting percolation tests that meet the required absorption rates as required by
San Joaquin County, Public Health Services, Environmental Health Department (EHD).
In addition to conducting the percolation tests, a review of published soil information, geologic
maps, and ground water information was performed to evaluate the suitability of soils for use
with a septic system.
The formatting of this report has been designed to follow, to the greatest degree possible, the
EHD's Soil Suitability Study Requirements Checklist, dated July 14, 2003.
1.1 Site Description
The Assessor's Parcel Number (APN) for the Site is 053-220-08. The subject property is a total
of approximately 162 acres in size (Plate 1). The county application number is PA-07-203. The
southern portion of the site is planted in vineyard, and the northern remainder is vacant with
seasonal grasses and seasonal creeks.
The elevation of the Site, according to a United States Geological Survey topographic map,
ranges between 175 to 200 feet above mean sea level. The land slopes up towards the west,
but is generally hilly throughout the entire Site.
According to the San Joaquin County Community Development Department (www.co.san-
joaquin.ca.us), the subject property is zoned AG-40, general agriculture with a minimum parcel
size of 40 acres. This zoning designation "is established to preserve agricultural lands for the
continuation of commercial agricultural enterprises."
902 Industria]Way•Lodi,CA 95240.209.367.3701 •Fax 209.369.4228 ©2007 Neil O.Anderson&Associates,Inc.
